After a pretty good day at work, I came home and did some work that I haven't done in a while. Tearing apart electronic equipment!! Years back, I worked at Orion as a electronic technician repairing TV's, VCR's, and Camcorders. I try and mess around with electronics every chance I get. Tonight I decided to look at a camcorder that the Dorn's may have dropped? or the screen quit working. I started taking apart piece at a time and tried to keep screws straight.
About the time I got it all apart, the Dorn's show up so I tried to get Maddox to put it back together for me. He looked at it like I was crazy for taking it apart.(I don't think Larry and Deann was going to jump in and put it back together either). I looked all over to find the problem with it but had no luck. I did get it back together with no problem.
At times I do miss working at Orion and the friends that I made there. All my troubleshooting skills came from that place and it always had some challenges. Way back when I was working there I thought that would be "work" until I retired; little did I know at the time that building new electronic equipment would get cheaper than repairing old. A least this allowed me to further my education and now get to repair bigger and more sophisticated equipment. Life has a funny way of molding a person to become better than they were before. I will always be caught working on electronics. It's an old hobby. Keep to the Beat!

Lights Down!
After Kendra got home; I asked her if she would help me take down outside Christmas lights since it was 50 degrees out and nice. She jumped on the idea if I would let her on the roof to help with the roof ones. I did let Colin up there when we put them up so I let Kendra help me take them down. In the process of taking down lights and decor, I didn't think Kendra got to talk all day. Don't get me wrong, I want to have the kids talk to me but I need time to reflect on her thoughts and her thoughts were coming a mile a minute. That's what I love about her never afraid to express herself.
We got all the lights down and put away. Even some of us got an ear full of information! Thank you for helping me, Kendra!!!

Tubes Day
This was the day that Colin's ears received their tubes again. He has been fighting ear infections for several weeks and Dr. Dejti said it was time for them. After getting the other 2 kids to their respective schools, we headed for the hospital.
When we got to the room, there was a cool red and black blanket for him to take home after the procedure.
After the trouble figuring out how the gown goes on; you could tell his nervousness was setting in. While he waited to be taken into surgery he played the ipod to take his mind off the situation. When the anesteologist came in she told them that they would be using some funky monkey juice on him and he may come back to the parents with hair on his chest and face.(which he smiled at)
Well no new HAIR. He came back after about 1/2 hour a little drowsy and grumpy but get some broccoli in him and he is a new man. He did tell us later he would hope that they would cancel the procedure and that he would rather went to school. We got outta there about noon and Colin, Caden, and I rested the part of the afternoon. Colin did get a compliment from one of the surgery staff saying she wished they have more kids like him following instructions and not whining. We are proud of you Colin.

Caden's first tooth loss
Caden lost his first tooth today (by natural means). I don't think he knew how to feel about it yet but he was ready to put it under the pillow tonight for the tooth fairy.

Free day coming to a close.
Any day I have off, Bren calls it my free day and to utilize it how I see fit. I did sleep in a little (to help with my cold). Got a couple hours in Arkham City before lunch. Checked coolants in vehicles even though it would have been to late.(Their OK) Took the little guy to Speech Therapy where he may have tricked Ms.Jill into feeding him! Made it to Rural King, used my gift card to get new pliers I've been needing for a year. Then took all 3 kiddos to dentist for checkups. Colin was the only one with a cavity and to top it off he will also get tubes in his ears on Thursday. Looks like a busy week for our family. Kids now getting their showers and getting ready for bed because school starts up tomorrow. After 4 days off I'm kinda ready to get back to work. I'm ready for the normal schedule... the one I am used to. I'm guessing Bren's ready for me to go back to work NOT! With both of us sickly, we didn't get to spend much time together this weekend. We will have to ditch the kids some upcoming weekend and go out!!! I hope Bren enjoys the GNO tonight; she deserves it. In the mean time, I will send the kids to bed and go to Arkham City. Keep to the Beat!

Effingham trip
Well even though I am still feeling alot under the weather(sinuses); we went on a family trip to the big city of Effingham to eat and use a few gift cards. After Ryan's, we went to Gamestop for two games. One game was for the two boys and their DS's and the other was for everyone although only Brenda will be the one playing it and I doubt I will get a chance to even play the Xbox ever again. (You'll have to ask her!!!). Next was Kohl's which I could have skipped. Not enough hunting supplies. Then to Aldi's for food and ice cream. It seems we have alot of ice cream toppings to use up? Finally, we headed to Claire's; because Kendra had a gift card burning a hole in her pocket. Colin and Caden didn't want to go in to Claire's, so we walked down to the lighted village display at the other end of the mall. Very neat display. It had alot of lighted houses and buildings, and they have been displaying it since 1964 always adding to it. On the way home the kids were buried into their DS's or ipods and Bren and I talked. Also kudo's to her for helping me get my playlist going on this here blog page!!! Got home unloaded food and rested. Bren tried out HER (I mean everybody's) new game. I thought I would jot down a few lines on this here computer and since I said what I was going to say I'm outta here. Keep the Beat!

Just Dance 3
Kids got this game for Christmas and I recorded them on my crappy phone. Here's a crappy video of of the kiddos trying to dance like their old man.(They have nothing on me). They were showing off to Grandpa and Grandma K. Even grandma tried it out. I tried it last night and I can say I still like freestyling dancing better especially in the privacy of my home. At least the kids will learn that dancing can be cool!!!!
New Year!!!
My new year's resolution is to start a blog and use it to get more involved with my family. This will allow me to brag, express my thoughts, and maybe not miss out on anything. Bren thinks I do OK as dad but I can always be improved upon. I told myself not to use this blog to rant and rave about anything on here, but I will not garantee that. People who read this blog will find out that I tend to joke alot and nothing is likely to get me rattled. Now reading back what I typed I sound silly but I am a first timer. Give me time to hone my skills and maybe in the near future, you can enjoy this blog as much as I hope to. Keep to the Beat!!!
